Volunteering in Greensand Country

Volunteers are an essential part of helping to secure the future of many habitats and species and making wildlife and green spaces more accessible. If you want ‘to put something back’ or ‘make a difference’ then volunteering in Greensand Country would be perfect for you.

Volunteers bring lots of enthusiasm, skills and interests. Meet and work alongside like-minded people of all ages and backgrounds, improve your CV, see and help amazing wildlife and get fit. You’ll have a sense of achievement from seeing a good job done and knowing that you’re helping a great cause. Where appropriate, many of our partner organisations offer training and development to help you help our landscape. As your experience grows, so do we – great news for our wildlife and environment!

We’re looking for some volunteer Wardens to help us look after the three Destination Plus Circular Routes. These routes are in Leighton Buzzard, in Ampthill and between Biggleswade, Sutton and Potton.

These Routes help people get outdoors so that they can come to appreciate the distinctive and loved Greensand Country.  We’re looking for keen walkers, but you don’t need any previous experience of being a Volunteer Warden.  You just need enthusiasm and passion and a love of the Greensand Country landscape.
