Greensand Country Festival helps combat loneliness and raise awareness during Mental Health Awareness Week
This year’s Greensand Country Festival got underway at the start of May and has already featured a number of exciting events, including forest bathing, a fun run, horse-riding, a map awareness course, storytelling in the woods and much more.
This week (9 – 15 May), in recognition of Mental Health Awareness week, events feature a number of activities to help beat loneliness, from a women’s only walk at RSPB The Lodge, to a Sound Bath using Tibetan bowls to create peace and calm your mind and body, Yoga and Meditation at Shuttleworth, and a number of community walks, taking place across the landscape.
The annual Festival, supported by Mulberry Homes, will continue throughout May and into the start of June, taking place across the landscape, from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay, with local people encouraged to come along and explore more of the unique and much-loved landscape on their doorstep.
The festival, which has been hosted by the Greensand Country Landscape Partnership since 2018, aims to promote a wide range of events taking place across the local area, encouraging people to discover more of Greensand Country and its beautiful parks, woodlands, heritage sites, attractions and much more.
